SUNDAY 28TH AUGUST 2022
MORE INFORMATION
Supported by RED FUNNEL and endorsed by the BPRC
OMRA returns to Cowes for 2022 alongside the BPRC Cowes-Torquay race.
A new race format for Qualifying/Sprint is running for this year, taking lessons from previous races:
Qualifying - Each Boat from each class will have a 5 lap qualification, similar to an old style sprint race that OMRA used to run, your fastest lap from your run will count towards the qualifying. 2 stops are allowed, if you stop you will lose that lap by default, after 2 stops it will be the fastest lap achieved so far..
Sprint Race - 20 lap sprint race. Run as a dead start race, fastest boat from qualifying goes first with a 10 second gap working down the order.
In the event that more than 6 boats in a class are entered (as we limit to 6 boats on the water in Cowes), There will be 2 x Sprint races with the final order determined by fastest times to complete the 20 laps.
